Who this covers
This policy applies to the MPTree Android app and the website at mp-tree.net. MPTree is an offline music player built by Caelan Verkuijl. There is no company behind it and no server that stores your information.
What MPTree collects
Nothing. MPTree does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There is no account, no sign in, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind. We have no way of knowing who you are or what you listen to, because none of that information is ever sent anywhere.
Access to your music files
To play your music, MPTree asks Android for permission to read the audio files on your device (the Read audio or Read storage permission). This access is used only to find and play your music on the device itself. Your files are never uploaded, copied off the device, or shared with anyone. If you deny this permission, MPTree simply cannot show your library.
Internet access
MPTree includes an optional in-app browser so you can fetch music files yourself. The internet connection is used only when you choose to open that browser and load a page. MPTree does not contact any server of ours, send us your activity, or phone home in the background. Music you add through the in-app browser is your own responsibility.
Backups
MPTree can save a backup of your playlists, artwork, and music to a single file. That file is written to a location you choose on your own device or storage. It is never sent to us or to any third party. You are in full control of where it goes and who can see it.
The website
The mp-tree.net website is a set of static pages hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies. The feedback form on the site opens your own email app with a message ready to send. It does not submit your text to any server.
Children
MPTree is a general audience music player and is not directed at children. Because it collects no data at all, it collects no data from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date at the top. Because MPTree collects no data, any change will be about wording or new features, never about starting to collect your information.
